Greenway, Toronto Ontario and Fred Ayles trade is shown as farmer. The Circumstances of Casualty shows: "Died (pyemia) at No. 53 Casualty Clearing Station. Pyemia= (Pyaemia Pyaemia is a type of septicaemia that leads to widespread abscesses of a metastatic nature. It is usually caused by the staphylococcus bacteria by pus-forming organisms in the blood. Apart from the distinctive abscesses, pyaemia exhibits the same symptoms as other forms of septicaemia. It was almost universally fatal before the introduction of antibiotics.) This card also shows him as belonging to the Machine Gun Reinforcement Pool. The Commonwealth War Graves Registers shows G. Greenway being notified as well his mother a Mrs. Alice Ayles, Bella Vista, Maidenhead England.Ancestry shows a Geo Greenway born in England, head of house in Wellington South, 1911 Census, which may be where Frederick was placed after arriving in April 1911. The Greenway family consisted of Nellie age 24, Mary age 6, Lillie age 4 and Josephine age 1. On the census it shows wife Nellie as also born in England, he is shown to be a gardener and it looks she works maybe hotel? They are shown to live near Guelph which would be close enough to Mitchell so I am suggesting that this is where Frederick was sent after arriving in Canada in April 14, 1911 at age 13/14. http://www.bac-lac.gc.ca/eng/discover/immigration/immigration-records/home-children-1869-1930/immigration-records/Pages/item.aspx?IdNumber=162138http://www.bac-lac.gc.ca/eng/discover/military-heritage/first-world-war/first-world-war-1914-1918-cef/Pages/item.aspx?IdNumber=18208http://www.canadiangreatwarproject.com/searches/soldierDetail.asp?ID=29650http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gr&GRid=15123224&ref=acomhttp://www.cwgc.org/find-war-dead/casualty/481394/AYLES,%20Fhttp://www.veterans.gc.ca/eng/remembrance/memorials/canadian-virtual-war-memorial/detail/481394http://www.veterans.gc.ca/eng/remembrance/memorials/books/page?page=529&book=1&sort=pageAsc2nd Bn
